Summit, NJ Reeves-Reed Arboretum has experienced significant growth and broader outreach in these past years. It is little wonder that readers of New Jersey Family have selected the Arboretum as 'the best garden in New Jersey." In order to best serve the needs of an ever growing constituency, as well as the maintenance of the pristine and beautiful landscape, and to provide the highest quality of professional programming, the Arboretum is offering two key staffing opportunities for immediate hire. All candidates are encouraged to visit the grounds to best appreciate the unique and exciting traits of working at an historic site and with a passionate and enthusiastic staff.
The mission of Reeves-Reed Arboretum is to engage, educate and enrich our visitors. To that end, we are looking to fill the following part time positions - volunteer coordinator/administrative assistant, and environmental educator. These are paid positions. About Reeves-Reed Arboretum: Celebrating over 40 years as a historic public garden and education resource, Reeves-Reed Arboretum engages, educates and enriches the public through horticulture and environmental education, and the care and utilization of the gardens and estate. Open 7 days a week from 7:00 am till 7:00 pm from April 1 to October 31 and from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm from November 1 to March 31, the Arboretum is listed on both the National and New Jersey State Historic Registers. Funding for RRA has been made possible in part by the NJ Historical Commission, a division of the Department of State, through a grant administered by the Union County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs, Dept. of Parks & Community Renewal.
