The Pumpkin Patch Part 1 - Glassblowing: Saturday, October 5

(for adults and children ages 12 and up)

Reeves-Reed Arboretum is excited to partner with the Morris County School of Glass to offer several programs together! It's a wonderful way to try your hand at glassblowing and make some beautiful seasonal pumpkins or gourds.

Part 1: Glassblowing
Saturday, October 5 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm (participants sign up for a half hour session) at The Morris County School of Glass (89 Whippany Road in Morristown {Exit 1B off NJ 24W}).

Who doesn't love a glass pumpkin? Come try your hand at glassmaking at the Morris County School of Glass. This fun, seasonal class will explore shaping and manipulating 2,100-degree molten glass to form a beautiful or gourd. Leave having learned the basics of this beautiful art form.

Part 2: Discovery Saturdays: Gourds!
Saturday, October 12 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Reeves Reed Arboretum (165 Hobart Avenue in Summit {Exit 8 off NJ 24E})

After the glass cools overnight, pick it up at Reeves-Reed Arboretum on Saturday, October 12 anytime between 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, and learn about pumpkins and gourds at RRA's weekly Discovery Saturdays program. Through activities, games and a craft, participants will learn about the different shapes, sizes and colors of gourds.

Participants can also borrow an Arboretum backpack loaded with binoculars, field guides, a magnifying glass and everything else needed for an outdoor Arboretum adventure! Registration is not required for this part of the program.
