The Arboretum Grounds will be closed all day on Sunday, April 18 for our annual festival, Daffodil Day. Registration for this festival will close at 10AM on Saturday. We will not be able to accommodate walk-ins due to COVID restrictions.
The Arboretum's outdoor garden classroom is the perfect setting for students to learn how food grows from seed to plant and that insects are important partners in the process. Students will also be introduced to the Square Foot Gardening method and participate in seed starting activities in the Greenhouse. Through hands on activities, they will develop a greater understanding of where food comes from and what parts of plants we eat; all while connecting with and forming a deeper appreciation of nature.
Program Length: 1 ½ - 2 hours
Next Generation Science Standards emphasis to follow.
