With this series we plan to engage the public with presentations from authors, lecturers, and experts in the fields of Horticulture, Gardening, Ecological and Environmental Studies. We invite you to come along on this journey, sit awhile, and gain a bit more knowledge and insight, while learning new ideas engendered by our array of noted luminaries in the Green Field! We've tailored these fascinating topics to inspire, enrich and empower you and our surrounding community .
The first in the series-the Arboretum is delighted to welcome popular lecturer and author Marta McDowell whose new book, Unearthing The Secret Garden, about the children's classic and its author, is due out from Timber Press this October 2021. Frances Hodgson Burnett's classic The Secret Garden has inspired generations of readers to cultivate their own bits of earth. This lecture explores Burnett's life, work and the passion for flowers and gardening that inspired her book
In this season of anxiety and uncertainty, there's a secret to restoration, rejuvenation, and redemption, and it is integrally tied to the simple act of gardening. Please join us on this gardening exploration and enjoy an intriguing evening with the author.
The author will be available for book signing. The first 25 registrants will be entered into a drawing for an autograph copy of the book. Light refreshments will be served.
