The Nature of Glass - Spring Flowers: Saturday, March 2

The Nature of Glass:  A collaboration between Reeves-Reed Arboretum and The Morris County School of Glass
(for ages 8 and up)

Part 1: Glassblowing
Saturday, March 2 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm (participants sign up for a half hour session) at The Morris County School of Glass (89 Whippany Road in Morristown).

Flowers are the harbingers of Spring but their beauty is fleeting and their blooms quickly fade. Celebrate Spring by creating a one-of-kind flower whose beauty never fades! Explore glassmaking by playing with colorful 2,100 degree molten glass and let your creativity blossom as you learn how to sculpt hot glass into a one-of-a-kind flower!

Part 2: Discovery Saturdays
Saturdays in March from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Reeves Reed Arboretum (165 Hobart Avenue, Summit).

After the glass cools overnight, pick it up at Reeves-Reed Arboretum any Saturday in March from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and learn about the beautiful flowers blossoming in the gardens as part of RRA's weekly Discovery Saturdays program. Each week you will learn about a new flower through experiments, stories, games, and crafts.

Participants can also borrow an Arboretum backpack loaded with binoculars, field guides, a magnifying glass and everything else needed for outdoor Arboretum adventure! Registration is not required for this part of the program.

Please click here to register!  Please note that the cost of $65 is for both classes.
