Join Curatorial Director of Horticulture John Beirne for a brisk walk and learn essential gardening activities for November. Find out how to safely prepare your garden for the unpredictable winter weather in Northern NJ. John will cover topics such as proper mulching techniques, protecting tender plants, identifying which plants may need autumn irrigation, and managing perennial cutbacks, division, and transplantation. We’ll also explore the woodland to discuss how to prepare shrubs, herbaceous plants, and native species for the winter months.
Please wear comfortable walking shoes, bring insect repellent if desired, and carry a bottle of water for refreshment.
