Step back in time and experience the magic of the holiday season—Gilded Age style! Join us this December for a festive day trip to the Hudson Valley, where we’ll tour two historic estates: Locust Grove Estate and Staatsburgh State Historic Site. Both mansions will be beautifully decorated for the holidays, offering a rare glimpse into the grandeur and seasonal traditions of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Stroll through lavishly adorned rooms, learn about the customs and lifestyles of the era’s elite, and immerse yourself in the sparkle and splendor that defined the Gilded Age.
Whether you’re a history enthusiast or simply looking to get into the holiday spirit, this enchanting tour promises a day of beauty, culture, and festive cheer.
ITINERARY:
8:30 am – Board the minibus at Reeves-Reed Arboretum
10:30 am – Arrive at Locust Grove Estate. Please plan to bring a packed lunch. After our guided tour of the mansion, we’ll have a break and give everyone time to eat and browse the gift shop before boarding the bus to our next destination.
12:45 pm – Board the minibus
1:15 pm – Arrive at Staatsburgh State Historic Site.
1:30 pm – Tour the mansion and shop at the holiday boutique.
3:15 pm – Board the minibus.
5:30 pm – Arrive back at Reeves-Reed Arboretum.
