Forest Bathing Walk, Finding Calm Before the Holidays

Friday, December 5 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

(for adults)

Forest Bathing, also known as Nature and Forest Therapy, is a slow, meditative walk in nature that takes a holistic view of the physiological, mental, emotional, and psycho-spiritual benefits of connecting deeply with the natural world. This practice engages the senses rather than the intellect, helping to calm the mind and restore balance. Especially as the busy holiday season approaches, Forest Bathing offers a peaceful way to release stress and strengthen your sense of well-being.

Enjoy this spiritually and emotionally enriching experience on the beautiful grounds of Reeves-Reed Arboretum, guided by Rich Collins on this restorative afternoon in nature.

A few tips from Rich to make your walk more comfortable:

  • The walk will last for about 2.5 hours.
  • We will be moving slowly and using our senses to connect with nature so this will not be an athletic walk.
  • Please dress in layers so you can be comfortable with temperature changes.
  • Rich will provide small mats to use when sitting.

Rich Collins is a Certified Guide for the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs (ANFT), based in Morristown & Barnegat Light, New Jersey.  His company, Friendly Territory, specializes in Nature & Forest Therapy walks and retreats. He is a husband, proud father and grandfather, entrepreneur, and daily meditator.
