Lucinda Knaus' vibrant, multi-layered work reflects her passion for nature and is inspired from her travels to India as well as to her own backyard. Various media, from watercolor, drawings and prints, to cloth, wood, and handmade paper are cut up and juxtaposed to create a thematic and incandescent collage of images.
The artist lives and works in Woodstock, NY.
Artist Statement: These paintings explore, in various media, the vibrancy of form and brilliant color in nature. The rich design tradition of India and Central America have influenced my vision and have been incorporated into many of my pieces. My background in abstraction inspired composition and juxtaposition of imagery. I combine watercolor, drawing, fabric and paper collage in the process of creating a dynamic between my ideas and observations.
Closing reception will be held on Sunday, May 10 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.Please click here for the thumbnails of this exhibit.
