Fall In Love With Trees - Tree Care Tips From The Pros: Thursday, September 26

Wednesday, September 26 at 7:30 pm

Reeves-Reed Arboretum, together with the City of Summit's Shade Tree Advisory Committee, presents Fall In Love With Trees, four powerful programs about why trees are a must for yards and how best to care for them.

Trees provide shade and privacy, increase property values, and absorb dangerous carbon dioxide. Join Summit neighbors for these exciting and informative sessions spread out over September and October.

  • Why Trees Matter More Than Ever - Thursday, September 12. Learn about the benefits of trees and why we can't live without them from RRA's Director of Horticulture Marc Montefusco, with a special welcome by Summit Mayor Nora Radest. A tour of the Arboretum grounds begins at 6:45 pm, prior to the evening's session.
  • Tree Care Tips From The Pros - Thursday, September 26. Features industry specialists Matt Rodda (Bartlett Tree Experts) and Frank Gonzalez (Frank's Tree Service), along with John Linson (City of Summit Forester) and Jason Grabosky (Rutgers Urban Forestry Program).
  • Selecting Trees That Thrive - Thursday, October 10. Learn from Vincent Simeone, Director of Planting Fields Arboretum (Oyster Bay, NY), how to choose the best trees for the landscape and keep them growing!
  • Trees And Neighbors - Thursday, October 24. Attorney Rachel Roat discusses laws governing private trees and offers strategies for resolving disputes between neighbors.

All four programs will take place at Reeves-Reed Arboretum starting at 7:30 pm. There is no charge for these sessions, but space is limited and reservations are encouraged. Please contact RRA's Director of Education, Jackie Kondel at j.kondel@reeves-reedarboretum.org with any questions regarding the program.
