According to Ben Franklin, "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." So grab your favorite beer drinking friends and come to Reeves-Reed Arboretum on Sunday, September 29, when Put the 'PUB' in Public Garden turns the Arboretum into a beer garden with OKTOBERFEST 2019!
Sponsored by Peerless Beverage Company, supplying Warsteiner Beer, and The Meat House, offering bratwurst and pretzels, and accompanied by the popular oompah band, Doppelgänger, this festival is sure to turn into a recurring seasonal hit.
Brewed in Amsberg Forest Nature Park in North-Rhine Westphalia, Germany, Warsteiner is considered one of Germany's leading premium pilsner brands. Rated among "the best in Summit", The Meat House will be providing both the sustenance as well as the service for the Arboretum's Oktoberfest 2019. And a little about Doppelgänger...well, picture a 5 piece band dressed in German attire, featuring an accordion, clarinet, tuba, guitar, drums and vocals, and you're set for an afternoon fête of fun and frolic in the garden. And in true Oktoberfest style, the band and tables will be under a large tent!
Oktoberfest attire highly encouraged! There will be special prizes for best costumes.
If beer is not your beverage of choice, a limited amount of German/Austrian wine and other non-beer options will be available.
Oktoberfest 2019 is a fundraiser for the Arboretum. Admission to the afternoon's flavorful festivities is $100 per person with a special RRA member rate of $75 per person for a limited time. Purchases of 8 or more people in one transaction will guarantee a reserved table for your party. Admission includes bottomless beer, a bratwurst, and a pretzel. You must be 21 and over to attend the Oktoberfest.
Reservations are requested and the first 200 guests will receive a customized 22 ounce beer stein.
