DAFFODIL ALERT! The early bloomers are blossoming now. Due to a variety of daffodils in the glacial bowl, the daffodils will be blooming now through mid-April.
Did you know that we offer programs for scouts at the Arboretum? From Daisies and Cub Scouts on up, the Arboretum provides a unique setting for scouts of all ages to investigate and discover new things!
Whether your troop is working on a badge or is looking for a fun field trip, the historic grounds, gardens, and woodland trails of the Arboretum provide the perfect location to learn! We offer several programs that complete all, or most, of the requirements for select badges. Pictured below are the existing programs for Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts that we offer at RRA. If you don't see a specific badge, journey, or adventure, we are happy to work with you to create a program that meets your troop's goals!
Why the Arboretum?
Our gardens, both edible and ornamental, provide the perfect setting to learn about plants, flowers, and where food comes from. We can explore the grounds, with magnifying glasses in hand, in search of insects and other creepy crawlies. Using a map and a compass, we'll find our way on the woodland trails. Search for the wild residents of the Arboretum and signs they leave behind. Whichever program you choose, we're sure your scouts will have a blast getting to learn and explore at RRA!
