Eco-Corps: "Think Globally, Act Locally"

Eco-Corps is an experiential learning initiative for teenagers from Summit, Springfield, New Providence and Berkeley Heights.  A collaborative effort between Reeves-Reed Arboretum and the Summit Area Y, environmental science is taught through a variety of conservation and restoration projects that use the Arboretum’s woodlands, New Jersey-designated wetland area, landscaped gardens and greenhouse as an outdoor classroom.  The program is offered for four weeks during the summer months, culminating with an off-site project where Eco-Corps participants utilize their newly acquired skills.  This initiative is made possible through a grant from the Summit Area Public Foundation and the Royal Bank of Canada.
