ART in the Garden 2014

The Arboretum's stars were in alignment this past Saturday for our annual celebration and fundraiser, ART in the Garden. The weather was simply perfect. Guests arrived in their garden party finery and were warmly greeted by RRA staff and waiting glasses of festive libations. The gardens were in bloom, the grounds and Wisner House offered an eye-catching art installation, the air was filled with live music, as Reeves-Reed Arboretum welcomed the largest gala crowd ever!

A party such as ART in the Garden doesn't simply happen by itself. I want to thank the many, many hands that contributed to creating a seamless and fun event. First and foremost, I thank the wonderful gala committee, headed by Nancy Quinn and Wolfgang Guenther, who together spearheaded the auction and oversaw each detail down to the tiniest ruffle on the bid tables. And speaking of the auctions, I want to thank all our business partners and vendors who generously contributed products and services to help us in our fundraising efforts. Thanks to our trustees who reached out to the community to invite their families and friends, and to introduce new supporters to the Arboretum. A party isn't a party without guests, so a special thanks to all of you who attended, who chose to be sponsors, and for those of you who couldn't attend but made a donation in honor of our celebration. It was a real treat to see so many familiar faces, as well as to make new and lasting friendships.

To this year's honorees, Kevin Cummings, CEO and President of Investors Bank, and Tracy & Nick McKee, our community honorees, we thank you for your years of generous support and trust. Your encouragement and participation is a gift to our organization.

Lastly, I want to thank the hardworking RRA staff who for months helped in the preparations, and on the night of, were true ambassadors for the Arboretum. Each year you outdo yourselves in how you demonstrate your passion and commitment. As I say, Reeves-Reed is not a place, it's an experience, and you are the reason for that.

So while we enjoy the glow and memory of a night filled with twinkling lights and happy faces, we look to the coming months of concerts, camps, workshops, and many more opportunities to engage, educate, and enrich each and every one of you who come to Reeves-Reed Arboretum.

With appreciation and affection,
