Turtle Head
Chelone obliqua

Flower Color:
  Dark pink or purple

Flower Shape:
   Tubular and 2-lipped

Season of Bloom:  
   Late summer to early fall

Range:  
   Central and Southeastern United States

Description of Plant:
   This plant grows up to 2 feet tall.  It has
   boldly veined dark green leaves shaped like
   lances.

Interesting Facts:
   The flower resembles the head of a turtle.
