Indian Pink
Spigelia marilandica

Flower Color:
   Red outside, yellow inside

Flower Shape:
   Tubular, funnel

Season of Bloom:  
   Spring to summer

Range:  
   Southeastern United States

Description of Plant:
   This plant grows up to 18 inches tall.  It forms
   a clump of spear-shaped green leaves.

Interesting Facts:
   Spigelia was used by the Indians and colonists
   as a medicine.
