Guinea-Hen Flower
Fritillaria meleagris

Flower Color:
   Purple, pinkish-purple or white with strong,
   purple-pink checkering

Flower Shape:
   Bell

Season of Bloom:  
   Spring

Range:  
   Southern England to Northern Balkans, 
   Western Russia

Description of Plant:
   This plant, a bulb, grows up to 1 foot tall.  It
   has thin, long gray-green leaves.

Interesting Facts:
   'Fritillaria' is from Latin, 'fritillus" means dice
   board. The spotted flower look checkered like 
   a dice board.
