  2005 Sunflower Project

Network to Nature students planted Giant Russian Mammoth Sunflower seeds in peat pots and were invited to participate in the Sunflower Project Contest.  They were instructed to plant their seedling in their garden in full sun and to keep a journal recording its growth.  Prizes will be awarded for the Biggest Flower, the Tallest Plant, and the Best Journal.

To be eligible to participate in the Sunflower Project Contest, students must

  • Measure the height of the sunflower, from the ground to the highest petal tip

  • Measure the size of the flower from petal tip to the opposite side petal tip

  • Take a picture of yourself with the sunflower

Entries must be received by October 1, 2005.
