Elephant Tree Nature Camp

Camp Description

The Reeves-Reed Arboretum invites your child to participate in a special summer day camp.  We call it Elephant Tree Nature Camp after a very large, gray, wrinkly-bark European Beech Tree that the children fondly dubbed the "Elephant Tree."

Each week of camp is focused around a nature theme and geared for specific age levels.  Camp sessions are limited to 16-20 children, depending on the age of the group and are coordinated by a teacher and two assistants.

We strive to make each day an enriching, and frequently, awe-inspiring event.  The program includes hikes and explorations throughout the Arboretum's 13+ acres of woodlands, meadow, wildlife habitat, gardens and rolling lawns.  Art projects, stories, games and expert guest-presenters are also introduced to enhance a love of the outdoors.

To help ensure an enriching experience, the Arboretum asks that you talk to your child about the special focus of this day camp. We have found that the happiest campers are those who enjoy discovering the wonders of nature.
