After School Programs

Nature-Themed Birthday Parties

Birthday parties are held year-round in the Reeves-Reed Arboretum Education Center at 165 Hobart Avenue, Summit, NJ, and are a privilege of membership at the Family Level or above. Parties can be scheduled Monday through Friday afternoons from 3:30-5:30 pm or on a Saturday, from either 10:00-12:00 noon or 1:00-3:00 pm. See individual party package descriptions for ages, time, and maximum number of party guests. (Please include any participating siblings when calculating the guest limits.)

Each party begins with a brief introduction by a staff member, followed by the entertainment of your choosing. A short hike will complete the program part of the party. The last half hour of each party is "free time" for cake and party food that you supply. The building is available to you one half-hour before your scheduled time slot for set-up and decorating, and one half-hour afterwards for clean-up.

Paint-A-Pot (for ages 4 and up)

At this art and planting party, each guest will decorate a terra-cotta pot that they will fill with a beautiful flowering plant. The children will take home their "masterpieces" as a lasting memory of a wonderful experience.

Cost:
$225, Time: 1.5 hours, Limit: 12 children (4, 5 year olds)

$250, Time: 2 hours, Limit: 12 children (ages 6 and up)

Terrific Terrariums (for ages 6 and up)

Guests at this party will learn about the water cycle and how plants grow as they construct their own "mini greenhouses" to take home after the party.
Cost: $250, Time: 2 hours, Limit: 12 children

Animal Presenters (for ages 4 and up)

If your child is an animal lover, you may choose to have a live animal presenter for your entertainment. Choose Snakes-n-Scales & Turtle Tales for reptiles and amphibians, or Wallaby Tales for mammals. We provide the contact information and you book and pay for the arrangements directly with the presenter. (More information about each animal program)

Cost:
$100 to Reeves-Reed Arboretum plus cost of presenter. Time: 1.5 to 2 hours, Limit: 15 children
