Mission Statement

Reeves-Reed Arboretum seeks to engage, educate and enrich its visitors so they may become better stewards of nature and the environment. This mission is achieved through the care and utilization of an historic estate and gardens.

Reeves-Reed Arboretum

Distinct from a park, an arboretum is an educational conservancy promoting the awareness that the natural environment needs protection and deserves concern. Trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants are conserved and identified in their natural settings for study and appreciation. Native flora, new plant introductions and unusual specimens that can be grown in this region are also on display.

Funding for Reeves-Reed Arboretum comes primarily from memberships and fundraising efforts. We encourage you to become a member; you may join on-line.

The Reeves-Reed Arboretum has received an Institutional and Financial Stabilization Grant from the New Jersey Cultural Trust as well as an operating support grant from the New Jersey Historical Commission, a division of the Department of State.

The Arboretum grounds and other facilities are available for rent.  The gardens provide an excellent background for photography sessions.
